If you're looking for a new scary cool coffee shop to check out in Indianapolis, the Black House Cafe is the place for you!

The Black House cafe opened in January 2024, making it one of Indianapolis' newest coffee shops! It is located in Fountain Square on the east side of Indianapolis, an area bustling with young people looking for unique things to do. The best part of the Black House Cafe is definitely the killer theme of the coffee shop itself. The shop is decked out wall-to-wall with horror movie collectibles, cardboard cutouts of scary movie icons, framed movie posters, and signage from movies like Child's Play and Nightmare on Elm Street.

Not only is the decor at the Black House Cafe to die for, but the drinks are awesome as well! The menu is full of creepy cool options inspired by your favorite scary movies. Not a fan of coffee? No need to lose your head - the Black House Cafe has an assortment of teas and smoothies to choose from as well! On my first trip to the Black House Cafe, I got the No, Please Don't Kill Me Mr. GhostFace - iced. This signature drink is a white mocha with raspberry drizzle ( one of my go-tos ). The raspberry drizzle was dripped along the sides of the cup to resemble blood ( so cool, and well thought out!). I met and chatted with one of the co-owners while I sat and sipped on my delicious coffee. My first trip to Black House Cafe was an absolute scream!

About Me

My name is Courtney and I'm from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Since high school, coffee has been a part of my daily routine and I slowly became infatuated with coffee shops and the environment they create.  In my first year at college, I decided to start dedicating any and all of my free time to going to local coffee shops in Indianapolis. Today, I've gone to over 12 shops just in Indianapolis alone!

As my coffee obsession grew, so did my love for traveling. When I was growing up a family vacation was an annual occurrence. Whether it was to the beach or the mountains I didn't care, I just loved exploring new places. Today, I travel any chance I get, even if it's just a day trip.

As of late, I've been combining both of these loves by always going to a new coffee shop at every destination. I decided to create this blog to not only share my love of coffee but to hopefully give others inspiration to explore... and drink some amazing espresso along the way!
