27 Club Coffee is owned by Machine Gun Kelly (a.k.a. Colson Baker). He turned the 27 Club into a coffee shop in order to promote "positive highs", like those from creativity and caffeine.

27 Club Coffee is located near The Flats in Cleveland, Ohio. You can see Lake Erie from the parking lot! The exterior is brick and has a pink skull with their name on one side of the building (as shown above). It is connected to other buildings like a strip, which gives it the classic "shop" feel. The interior is pink themed (MGK's signature color). It has pink windows, pink walls, pink seating, and pink lettering on the white walls. The most instagrammable places are the wall of pink clouds and the cut-out booths. My personal favorite part of the 27 Coffee Club's aesthetic is the multiple references to the "positive highs" MGK was motivated by. Phrases like "Local Coffee Dealer" and "Potheads Welcome" really showcase his focus on encouraging people to crave caffeine and creativity.

Their menu is full of themed food and drinks. They are known for having amazing breakfast and lunch options, but unfortunately I did not get to try any of them. In order to stay true to MGK's theme, my friends and I decided to get strictly pink drinks. I got the Pink Latte with french vanilla -- iced. My friends got the Pink Latte -- hot and the Hot Pink Smoothie. We all agreed they were just as delicious as they were aesthetically pleasing. I personally appreciated that I got to pick a flavor because I was a bit nervous that the Pink Latte would have some kind of pink flavor I wouldn't enjoy. But not to worry! It is just a normal latte, with beautiful pink color. My friend that got the Hot Pink Smoothie really enjoyed it, she said it was definitely worth the 5 hour drive we took to Cleveland.

For those who don't know the history of the "27 Club", it is a "club" in honor of all the stars that died at the age 27. Examples include Amy Winehouse and Jimi Hendrix. Machine Gun Kelly paid tribute to these legends by putting their pictures on some of the seating and their names on the table markers.

Would I recommend 27 Club Coffee?

Absolutely! No question, even those who aren't fans of Machine Gun Kelly or the color pink can enjoy the drinks and food the cafe has to offer.

About Me

My name is Courtney and I'm from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Since high school, coffee has been a part of my daily routine and I slowly became infatuated with coffee shops and the environment they create.  In my first year at college, I decided to start dedicating any and all of my free time to going to local coffee shops in Indianapolis. Today, I've gone to over 12 shops just in Indianapolis alone!

As my coffee obsession grew, so did my love for traveling. When I was growing up a family vacation was an annual occurrence. Whether it was to the beach or the mountains I didn't care, I just loved exploring new places. Today, I travel any chance I get, even if it's just a day trip.

As of late, I've been combining both of these loves by always going to a new coffee shop at every destination. I decided to create this blog to not only share my love of coffee but to hopefully give others inspiration to explore... and drink some amazing espresso along the way!
